Another visit by the Secretary of State to the Profikomp site

Attila Steiner, State Secretary for Circular Economy Development, Energy and Climate Policy at the Ministry of Innovation and Technology, visited the site of Profikomp Environmental Technology Inc. in Gödöllő on 8 March.

One of the main points of the visit with was the presentation of the operation of our decentralised small scale composting plant. This site can serve as an excellent model for smaller municipalities in the collection and local use of collected bio-waste and compostable plastics. In addition, of course, we have also described our other R&D projects, in particular our other investigations on biopolymers, as well as our algae farming and insect protein production experiments.

The other accent point of the visit was the presentation of the infrastructure of the Profikomp Innovation and Training Centre (PIKK) suitable for both theoretical and practical education. Since from March 2021, the Adjunct Department of Waste Management (as part of the Institute of Environmental Sciences) of the Hungarian University of Agriculture and Life Sciences (MATE) University will operate at the ProfiKomp site in Gödöllő.

Speaking of the visit, Secretary of State Attila Steiner negotiated at the university a plan to establish a Circular Economic Analysis Center. Of course, the staff of the outsourced department also took an active role in the elaboration of this. The purpose of establishing the Circular Economic Analysis Center is to bring together and synthesize knowledge related to the circular economy in a knowledge center. According to the concept, the center will be able to develop and recommend models that can be used directly by agri-food businesses, local governments, and policy as well.
