Goodbye Plastic!

301/2021 Government Decree entered into force on 1st July 2021. (VI.1.) in Hungary restricting the placing on the market of certain disposable plastic products. This Regulation complies, inter alia, with Directive (EU) 2019/904 of the European Parliament and of the Council on the reduction of the impact of certain plastic products on the environment.

Profikomp Environmental Technologies Inc. welcomes the entry into force of the decree, as the distribution of single-use plastic products has been banned, such as plates, cutlery, straws, polystyrene food and beverage containers, and microplastic contamination causing oxidatively degradable plastic products. In the future, only biodegradable products based on natural raw materials can be used to replace these products, these can be composted once they have become waste. For this, ProfiKomp already has the appropriate composting technology, this technology is being operated at Profikomp’s composting plant in Gödöllő.

The Government Spokeswoman Alexandra Szentkirályi and Attila Steiner, Secretary of State for the Development of the Circular Economy, Energy and Climate Policy, provided information on the entry into force of the decree on their official Facebook page in a short film.
