MATE has created a unique Circular Economy Knowledge Centre

On 7 March 2022, the official opening of the Centre for Circular Economy Analysis and Knowledge founded by the Hungarian University of Agricultural and Life Sciences (MATE) was held in the Rector’s Hall of the University.

The knowledge centre aims to survey, collect and locally recycle all biodegradable waste generated on the Gödöllő campus in an internationally unique way, and to share the latest knowledge on the circular economy.

The new knowledge centre will help to reorganise the university waste collection system, create synergies between related disciplines and provide economically and scientifically based information for legislators and public administrations. Based on the experience gained here, MATE experts will develop models that can be applied countrywide in the future.

In the implementation of the project, the staff of Profikomp, as the External Waste Management Department of MATE, will also play an active role.

The official opening ceremony was attended by Anita Boros, Head of the Knowledge Centre, László Aleksza, leader of the project, László Palkovics, Minister of Innovation and Technology, Sándor Csányi, Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the MATE Foundation, and Csaba Gyuricza, Rector of the University.
